for Konika, my better half

I slip into oblivion, gazing at the sky
looking at the nine years that have just gone by

the roads that we travelled, the times that we spent
through the pain, though silence and through elate

as I sit to pen my thoughts, I struggle hard because
words just don’t seem to valuate my emotions

from the moment you came to my life, till the one right know
through the thick and through the thin, I often wonder

how could you possibly stay the course
with courage, with conviction and love of course

you stood by me, with me and every time you did
through the darkness and through the blinding light,
each and every moment, you were with me

as life meandered on my whims till came to my life
you were the ‘kinara’, you gave me the ‘sahara’
you gave me purpose, you gave me family

you became, you are and will always remain
to be the raison d’etre of my life
